• Grey Summit. Purina Farms and Shaw Arboretum. The arboretum provides an opportunity for short or long hikes, a sense of what the prairies used to be like, and access to the Meramec river.

• Washington. Restaurants, B&B’s, Amtrak stop. A good place to start or end up after a bike ride on the KATY trail, but be careful going over the bridge that crosses the Missouri River.
