Mayor Slay to Present Spirit Award to Gateway EDI
ST. LOUIS – Mayor Francis G. Slay will present the Mayor’s Spirit of St. Louis Award to Gateway EDI at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005.
The Mayor’s Spirit of St. Louis Award recognizes businesses that make major expansions or improvements to their existing locations, open or relocate to the City, and certain major City projects.
Gateway EDI, a technology company that electronically processes health care transactions between providers and insurers, recently relocated to downtown St. Louis. The 20-year-old company outgrew its current office in Crestwood and relocated to a 46,000-square-foot space in the One Financial Plaza Building, 501 N. Broadway. The expanded space will allow the company, which currently employs 110 associates, to add up to 125 new jobs over the next five years. The renovation project was assisted by the City of St. Louis Local Development Company, the City’s small business lending authority under the umbrella organization St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC).
