Mayor Slay Presents Spirit of St Louis Award to Corvera Abatement TechnologiesST. LOUIS -Mayor Francis G. Slay presented the Mayor's Spirit of St. Louis Award today to Corvera Abatement Technologies, Inc., 3101 Cherokee Street. The firm relocated its corporate headquarters from St. Louis County to the Cherokee Business District of St. Louis City.

The award recognizes businesses that make major expansions or improvements in our City, innovative new businesses that open in the City of St. Louis, as well as major City projects.

"The Spirit of St. Louis Award recognizes excellence in business," Mayor Slay said, "and I am pleased to recognize Corvera Abatement Technologies. The company's commitment to St. Louis, and its success here shows that St. Louis is a great place to do businesses. We are very proud to have Corvera Abatement Technologies as one of our corporate citizens."

Corvera Abatement Technologies, Inc., was founded in 1991 and located in St. Louis County. The company provides expertise on environmental issues by handling projects locally, nationally, and internationally involving multiple hazardous elements including asbestos, lead based paint, mercury, radioactive waste, etc.

The purchase and renovation of this building on Cherokee Street will give Corvera Abatement Technologies a more central location and allow them room for expansion. The company received the Mayor's Spirit Award in recognition of its commitment to the City of St. Louis and total renovation of this mixed use building on Cherokee Street.

The project was assisted by the St. Louis Local Development Company (LDC), one of the City's development boards that provides low-interest loans to small businesses seeking to locate or expand in the City.

After presenting the award, Mayor Slay and other distinguished guests toured the new headquarters.
