Normal entry salary is $27,924.

Nature of Work
This is outdoor work caring for and maintaining trees on city property. Duties include planting, trimming, and removing trees using both manual and power tools. This work involves climbing trees at varying heights possibly near buildings and utility lines. Also involves operating vehicles such as single axle, tandem axle, and aerial lift trucks. Candidates must be available for 24-hour snow call and emergency call.

Minimum Qualifications
An Associate's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a closely related field;

OR one year of recent full-time paid experience in the operation of manual and power tools used in pruning, trimming, removing and caring for trees;

OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Candidates must also have the skills and abilities to climb trees and work at varying heights.

License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri Commercial Driver's License or permit (Class A or B) while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must be able to present license at the time of the Performance Test.
