Moving along: Daly seeks better motor-vehicle service at City Hall
By Jake Wagman
08/24/2007 12:05 pm

Patrons take a number — just like at the deli — and stand-by for upwards of an hour for one of three service windows to become available.
That could soon change, with help from St. Louis Revenue Collector Gregory F.X.

June 14, 2005City Leaders to "Clean Up" Tenant Evictions
Mayor Francis G. Slay joined Sheriff James Murphy, Alderman Steve Gregali and City Counselor Patricia Hageman announced a new policy in which the City of St. Louis will no longer tolerate the long-held practice of landlords dumping tenants' belongings on the street.
Effective June 13, 2005, landlords evicting tenants shall not place household goods, furnishings or any other personal property upon the street, sidewalk, area between the sidewalk and the curb, or in the alley.
Under the new policy, the City of St. Louis has produced a memorandum which will be provided to landlords when they pick up their eviction notices, explaining the law and possible penalties for dumping personal belongings.
If a mover or another individual starts dumping personal belongings, the sheriff's deputy will notify them that they are participating in an illegal act and provide them with a copy of Ordinance 11.18.140.
