ST. LOUIS – Mayor Francis G. Slay is inviting all children age 12 or under in the City of St. Louis to enter the Mayor’s 2009 Holiday Card Design Competition. Designs should be appropriate for the holiday season.
“The young people of St. Louis are very talented and creative,” Mayor Slay said. “My wife Kim and I enjoy reviewing the many unique and artistic designs that are submitted for this annual competition.”
Submissions should be appropriate for all religions and people. Designs should be no larger than 8 ½” x 11” and drawn with crayon, water colors, paints, pencil, ink or color pencil so they can be easily reproduced. Art work must be received in the Mayor’s Office no later than Monday, Nov. 30 for consideration in the contest. Entrants should include their name, address, phone number, school, grade and age.
The top 10 finalists will be invited to attend a special ceremony in the Mayor’s Office.
The selected design will be reproduced and used as the cover of the Mayor’s 2009 Holiday Card. Entries will be on display in the Mayor’s Office during the holiday season.
