August 22, 2008 -- ST. LOUIS -- Mayor Francis G. Slay presents a proclamation to Lic. Jorge Lozano Armengol, Mayor of San Luis Potosi, St. Louis´ sister city, in honor of Saint Louis (Louis IX of France). Saint Louis was the patron saint of Louis XV, King of France at the time of the founding of the City of St. Louis in 1764. St. Louis Prepares to Host 80th All-Star Game in 2009
August 5, 2008 -- ST. LOUIS -- Today, Major League Baseball, the St. Louis Cardinals and the City of St. Louis unveiled the official logo of the 80th All-Star Game, which will be played at Busch Stadium on July 14, 2009. AME Church Conference to Meet in St. Louis
April 29, 2008 -- ST. LOUIS - Mayor Francis G. Slay and members of the African Methodist Episcopal Church held a news conference in the Mayor´s Office today to announce that the 48th Quadrennial of the AME Church General Conference will be held in St. Louis at America´s Center from July 4 - 11, 2008. The conference is expected to bring 40,000 visitors from around the globe to St. Louis.
