The following sites list organizations that provide employment opportunities, recreational and educational programs, and other social connections for youth. Also included are sites that help families adopt children, help children that have experienced child abuse or other traumatic family situations.

Annie Malone Children and Family Services Center. is dedicated to caring for DISADVANTAGED YOUTH. The Agency has become a facility that works with children that have been ABUSED, NEGLECTED, ABANDONED or EMOTIONALLY DISTURBED. The staff works with children and their families hoping for a reunification if possible, placement in foster homes when appropriate, to provide long-term care when necessary, and to develop skills and direction for adolescents to become self-supporting and independent.

BicycleWORKS. uses the bicycle as a vehicle to teach youth responsibility and good work habits. It is a programs for youth ages 9 - 17 which allows them to TO EARN A BICYCLE OR COMPUTER. The components are Earn-A-Bike which teaches bicylce mechanics, maintenance and safety, Earn-A-Computer which teaches practical use and repair of computers and a corresponding study program

Metropolitan Education and Training (MET) Center. The Metropolitan Education and Training Center offers a comprehensive set of assessment, job readiness and career/technically focused job training, placement, and career development services.
MET provides opportunities for motivated URBAN YOUTH AND LAID-OFF WORKERS to obtain SKILL TRAINING, EMPLOYMENT, and continuous CAREER DEVELOPMENT that will prepare them for employment as a production machinist, and/or employment as an entry-level draftsman, and/or additional career development opportunities, and/or continuing education at a two or four-year college.

Redevelopment Opportunities for Women Incorporated (ROW). Teens Care. allows St. Louis-area youth to design and submit proposals for their own COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS in partnership with non-profit organizations. A Teens Care peer panel- comprised of 18 St. Louis-area youth -- reviews the proposals and may award up to $500 FOR EACH PROJECT chosen. Teens may apply for a grant as an individual or team.

This program is for UNEMPLOYED MALE OR FEMALE BETWEEN 17 AND 24 years old WITHOUT A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA who is drug-free and a resident of St. Louis City interested in LEARNING CONSTRUCTION and in helping rehabilitate affordable housing. Opportunities to become involved in apprenticeship training programs are available through this organization,which also provides assistance with childcare.
