Improvements around the Art Museum include two curbed treelined promenades, 500 new trees, new paving around the statue of St. Louis and a stone plaza in front of the Muesum. Extensive road repairs and parking area renovations are involved. $1 million has gone towards the Grand Basin repairs.

Much of the work is outside of the Museum lease line. It is being done in keeping with a master plan for Art Hill.

The Art Museum is also taking steps towards selecting an architect to help guide the expanison of the museum. Plans for the expansion will allow for educational programs, visitor access, galleries and exhibits.
