The McGowan Brothers Development Corporation have renovated the Fashion Square building into mixed-use space including 120 loft apartments. The one and two-bedroom units and the live-work spaces are anticipated to rent for roughly $800 to $1100 per month for 900 to 1,300 square feet. There are 40 parking spaces available in the garage below the building and McGowan plans to build another garage behind the building.

Fashion Square is located in the Washington Avenue Historic District. Except for the first floor tenants, the building had been vacant for several years.

Fashion Square was once known as the “Aristocrat.” It was designed in 20th century Gothic style by New York Architect David R. Harrison in 1926. For many years Fashion Square showcased clothing and hats in the vibrant garment district. Above all, the building was considered one of the most modern of its time.
