The Highlands at Forest Park is one of the largest commercial/residential development to be constructed in the City of St. Louis in several decades. Situated on the former site of the St. Louis Arena, the 26-acre campus is prominently located on Oakland Avenue, east of Hampton and just south of to I-64.

The first of two contemplated office buildings, Highlands Plaza One is a five-story, $22 million structure, that was completed in January 2001. An unusual, 582-car parking garage with vines and greenery covering the exterior is connected to the office building. The two office buildings will form a gateway to the Highlands development, which will be anchored by a $2 million central park and fountain plaza to serve as a focal point for those who work and live at the Highlands.
