The Board of Education building is now Roberts Lofts on the Plaza -- forty-seven residential lofts with ground floor retail space. Michael and Steve Roberts bought the seven story structure for $1.6 million in the beginning of 2003. The building is located at the northwest corner of 9th and Locust, diagonally across from the Old Post Office and west of the plaza on the north side of Locust. The building housed the original city library on its top floors.
