The former Homer G. Phillips Hospital complex stood vacant for over 20 years until W.A.T. Dignity Corporation was able to assemble a combination of tax-exempt bonds, state historic tax credits and other public and private funding to finance transformation of the former hospital into 220 apartments for low and middle-income seniors. The project includes an exercise room, chapel, game room, library, computerized learning center, media room and a dining room with a kitchen where residents can get meals or cook their own. Additionally, residents have access to an on-site home health care operator.
