Message from the Circuit Attorney:

You deserve to live, work and play in a historically rich, culturally fertile and safe city that respects the rights of all people. As the Circuit Attorney for St. Louis City, I take my responsibility as your prosecutor very seriously. I have a fundamental belief as a public law enforcement leader, that I must utilize all of the resources available to me to hold people accountable for their actions. If I don't, we create an attractive environment for thugs, gang members and other violent criminals to commit crimes against innocent people. This is not acceptable.

Therefore, I continually strive to create an office that can be seen as the center of justice for the people of the City of St. Louis. The talented professionals of this Office are dedicated to pursuing justice, enforcing all laws applicable to the City and prosecuting criminal misdemeanors and felonies. We will do this by:
  • attracting and retaining the top law professionals in the country,
  • creating respectful and credible partnerships with all constituents,
  • influencing legislation on behalf of victims and human rights,
  • utilizing our resources to continue to reduce the crime rate in St. Louis City.

Partnering with the community and developing strong, viable relationships with all of our citizens is vital to the pursuit of justice. Although there may be times when you and your family feel that there is nothing you can personally do to prevent or reduce crime, you have more power than you think.

What should you do? Involve yourself in your community. Get to know your neighbors. Watch out for each other. Call the police when you suspect criminal activity. Keep your children in school. Educate yourself on how to avoid becoming a victim. Vote. Serve as a juror. Utilize the public resources available to you and your family, including this website.

While we can't stop all crimes, and even actualizing change will take years of effort, by working together now we will look back in years to come and benefit from the positive impact we have made on creating a safer, freer community.
