Voters who have changed residences within the City of St. Louis need to notify the Board of Election so that their registration records can be updated.
Voters who have not received notice of election cards or other mailings from the Board of Election within five (5) days before an election may be designated as inactive, and may be removed from the voter rolls if they do not appear to vote in two consecutive federal general elections.
You can check to see if your name is on the inactive voter list on the City website, you can go to your nearest St. Louis public library, or you can call the Board of Election at 314/622-4336.
Voters will be required to complete additional administrative steps prior to casting a ballot if they remain designated as inactive on election day.

If your name is on the Inactive Voters List, you can vote-- assuming you
still live in the City of St. Louis. But, if you are on the Inactive Voters
List, we won't be able to notify you of upcoming elections. When you do go
to vote, it might take some extra time. So, if you are on this list, it will
be worth your while to contact us to transfer your name to the active voter
roster.
The Inactive Voters List is comprised of registered voters for whom the Board
of Election Commissioners may have an inaccurate address because the Postal
Service returned one of our mailings as "undeliverable."
You should take a moment to check this on-line directory to determine
whether your name is on the Inactive Voters List.
If you are on the list and the address next to your name is accurate, please
do one of the following three things:
- Visit the Board of Election Commissioners at 300 North Tucker Boulevard in
Downtown St. Louis and ask that your name be transferred to the active voter
roster; or
- Visit your local public library, ask for the deputy election registrar,
and ask that your name be transferred to the active voter roster; or
- Send us a letter with your signature, address, date of birth asking that
you be transferred to the active voter roster. (We need your signature and
date of birth to make sure it is really you.)
If you are on the list and the address next to your name is wrong, take the
above steps to notify us of your current address and your former address.
If you no longer live in the City of St. Louis, please send us a letter with
your signature, date of birth, and former address notifying us that you have
moved. (Again, we want to make sure it's really you.)
The address of the Board's office is:
Board of Election Commissioners
300 North Tucker Boulevard
St. Louis, Missouri 63101-1914
Any voter with questions, or any City resident seeking information about
voter registration, may call the Board office at (314) 622-4336.
This directory will be updated periodically.
