Various forms of cancer are major causes of death across the United States.
St. Louis is fortunate to be the home of the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at the Washington University School of Medicine. This National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, affiliated with Barnes-Jewish Hospital and the Washington University physicians, offers excellent care to nearly 6,000 new cancer patients and follow-up care for over 28,000 patients each year.
Facilities like the Siteman Center, and the St. Louis University Cancer Center, can help patients fight cancer.
The American Cancer Society, National Children's Cancer Society, and other groups can provide support in the fight against these diseases.
