Bicycling paths and routes are located throughout the City of St. Louis, and more are planned in the coming years.
Trailnet, Inc. builds and maintains bicycling paths, including the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge and the North Riverfront Trail. The North Riverfront Trail extends from North Riverfront Park to Ashley Street near Laclede's Landing.
In Forest Park, the City Parks Division maintains a bicycling and rollerblading path that loops around the park perimeter. There is also a "velodrome" bicycle race track in Penrose Park, and a bicycling path in River des Peres Park from Lansdowne to Morganford.
Bicycle routes are located on a few city streets, including South Broadway as part of the Mississippi River Trail (MRT). Russell Blvd., S. Grand Blvd., Lafayette Ave., Holly Hills Blvd. and Christy Blvd. also include segments with marked bicycle lanes. The Bike St. Louis initiative aims to expand the availability and accessibility of bicycle routes in the central corridor particularly, from downtown to Forest Park.
