Child Care Center and Nursing Home Licensing
The City of St. Louis requires that all day care centers, nursing homes, children's homes and similar facilities be licensed. This includes persons providing care for five (5) or more children in a day care home. Contact the Business Assistance Center (BAC) to begin the application process. They can provide detailed instructions on how to apply for child care center and nursing home licenses. To find out about licensing requirements and to arrange for the necessary health, sanitation, food, lead and safety inspections, contact the Health Department at 314-612-5491.
