Residents may use any of 27 drop-off sites that are managed by the City of St. Louis Refuse Division. For your convenience, most of these sites are accessible 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week.
Drop-off recycling is as easy as 1-2-3! Simply separate your recyclables into three mixes of materials: commingled containers, commingled papers, and corrugated cardboard. Commingled containers are aluminum cans; brown, clear, and green glass bottles and jars; plastic #1 and #2 bottles and jugs; and steel cans. Please note that newspaper can now be commingled with junk mail, magazines, and mixed office paper.
The Curbside Recycling Cost-Sharing Pilot Program is available to residents living in zip codes 63108, 63110, 63112, 63113, 63116, 63139, and 63147. Thanks to generous support from the St. Louis - Jefferson Solid Waste Management District and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, financial assistance with curbside recycling service is offered to thousands of eligible households.
Even if you do not live in one of these ZIP codes, you may contract directly with Earth Circle Recycling at the full monthly rate for curbside recycling.
Also, most schools and some non-profits in the City offer Abitibi Paper Retriever bins, which allow anyone to deposit newspaper for recycling. The school/organization gets some revenue from these bins, to help with their fundraising goals.
