Library Cards

Library cards are issued by the St. Louis Public Library. They are free to St. Louis City, St. Louis County and St. Charles County residents and property owners, and to persons attending school or working in St. Louis City.

This includes those who live in or pay taxes to these Library Districts:

Brentwood Public Library

Ferguson Public Library

Kirkwood Public Library

Maplewood Public Library

Richmond Heights Public Library

Rock Hill Public Library

St. Charles City-County Library

St. Louis County Library

University City Public Library

Valley Park Public Library

Webster Groves Public Library

Likewise, St. Louis City residents may obtain library cards from any of the aforementioned library districts, free of charge.

Certain conditions may apply. Fee-based memberships are available. Please contact the St. Louis Public Library Customer Service department with questions concerning eligibility.

You may apply for a library card in person at any St. Louis Public Library location. Appropriate current identification (preferably a photo I.D. with a current address) is required at time of registration and when your card is renewed.

Your library card is valid for one year, and may be used at all St. Louis Public Library locations.

Please report a lost card promptly!
