Chinese Classical Art - Fan Painting and Calligraphy

St. Louis art buffs have a unique opportunity to see an exhibit of original Chinese art at the Gallery of Contemporary Art at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park. Visiting artist Qinyan Zheng’s show displays her traditional Chinese techniques of painting and calligraphy in a show influenced by the history of the Chinese fan. Integrating poetry, calligraphy, painting and seal imprints, she emotionally applies her exquisite touch to her work expressing the emotions implicit in the fan.
The show will run from October 19 until November 13. An opening reception will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 23.
